Snow on Halloween weekend?

This week was Halloween, a day for kids to dress up, celebrate, and most importantly eat candy. But what is most incredible to me is the fact that this past Saturday, October 29th, there was a snow storm here in New York! I only realized this when my husband yelled “Sophia you HAVE to see this!”. I had heard that is was a possibility on the news, but I couldn’t believe it when I saw huge nickle-size snowflakes falling from the sky. Just 2 weeks ago it had been in the 70′s and beautiful, and now it had seemed we were in the dead of winter. To say the least, this put a damper on many of the Halloween engagements that many had planned. Low 30-degree temperatures combined with slush and snow doesn't bode well for people going around in costumes.Because of the horrible weather I know many people ended up staying in over the weekend due to the nasty weather. A friend of mine who was upstate at the time was actually snowed into his home all weekend. In Long Island and New York City though, by Sunday it was already back to being a normal Fall day. It was just a freak weather day in on the East Coast. Gladly it seems that Fall has resumed and things are back to normal, for now…

Sincerely,
Sophia Markotsis
